Data and enrichment
Data enrichment
Data enrichment is the process of adding missing or updated details to a contact or company record so it is complete enough to act on.
Why it matters
A record with just a name and a company is hard to use. Enrichment fills the gaps, adding the job title, verified email, phone number, company size, and industry, so a rep can decide whether the contact fits the target and how to reach them. Enriched records route better, score better, and convert better because the team acts on a full picture instead of a fragment.
How it works in practice
Enrichment matches an existing record against one or more data sources and writes back the fields that are missing or stale. A basic setup uses a single provider. A waterfall setup queries several providers in order and takes the first good answer for each field, which raises match rates. Enrichment can run in bulk on an existing list, or on write, meaning each new record is enriched the moment it enters the CRM.
Common mistakes
Enriching stale records without re-verifying them just spreads old errors. Another mistake is over-enriching, pulling in dozens of fields nobody uses, which clutters the CRM and slows reps down. A third is enriching once and never refreshing, which lets the data decay quietly until a campaign underperforms and no one knows why.
How hubsell approaches it
Because hubsell sources data live and verifies at the point of use, enrichment and verification happen together rather than as a later clean-up step. The record you get is already complete and checked, so there is less to fix downstream.
